Early into my exploration of photography, I was (and still am) absolutely enthralled by the work of Barbara Cole. Her Toronto Series (1998) and Iris Prints (1996). There was something about the notion of crossing mediums which spoke to me - which compelled me to do the same because if I could drive the process which could transmogrify a photography into a painting, then I'd know that I was capable of anything.
